Custom Plugins

Plugins are extensions for your Minecraft server made by third-party developers. They allow you to add new features and functionality to your server, such as custom join/leave messages, or an anticheat for your server to stop cheaters.

Where can I find plugins?

You can find a plugin by visiting one of the sites provided below this paragraph. When you find a plugin you want, make sure that it supports the server jar and version you’re running. To check what your server (e.g. Bukkit, Spigot, Paper) and server version (1.8-1.19) your server is running, run version in your server’s console. Keep in mind that you cannot install plugins on a Vanilla Minecraft server.

Installing and updating plugins

  1. Download the plugin that you want to use (a .jar file)
  2. In the file manager of your server locate the plugins folder, and upload the .jar file you downloaded.
  3. Restart your server to install the plugin, and you’re done!

Configuring plugins

  1. Go to the folder called plugins in your servers file manager, then go into the folder of the plugin you installed. The folder name for the plugin should be the same as your plugin.
  2. In the plugins folder there should be a .yml file, open it, and you’re ready to start configuring it. If you need help configuring the plugin, contact the developer of the plugin, or reach out to us through our billing portal (opens in a new tab) or Discord (opens in a new tab).
